Scouser's own 110s: Why Nike are dedicating a pair of trainers to the city.
Nike and JD Sports are set to drop a limited amount of Scouse style 110s tomorrow morning, but whats so special about this pair, and why do 110s hold such cultural weight in Liverpool?

At this point, everyone is aware that 110s are a part of Scouse culture, and the trainer isn't dying out in the city anytime soon. In Liverpool, we see these trainers at work, at the gym, at the match, and even in the clubs - they're Scouse uniform.
And this Scouse 110 craze hasn't gone unnoticed by multi-billion dollar global sportswear brand Nike, who have collaborated with UK sportswear retailer JD Sports, creating a limited edition pair to honour Liverpool's deep connection with the shoe.
Despite the overall design remaining as similar to the existing Airmax 95 styles as possible, there are still unique "Scouse" touches.
A first look at the "Scouse" details...

"Liverpool" embroidered on the front of one tongue.
Black suede on bottom of shoe.
"Big bubble" max air in the heel.
"Scouse" stamped on sole of shoe
On the back, reflective "Nike" logo which sits above embroidered "LPL" on top of a subtle, grey brickwork design.
River Mersey map printed across insoles.
But why drop an exclusively Scouse pair of 110s on 1.10?
The trainers drop tomorrow 1st October, on annual 110 day.
Since the 90s the shoes have grown out of Liverpool's football and casual scenes, highly valued due to their comfort tried and tested by fans when walking around Anfield and Goodison on match days - and ever since, wearing 110s has quickly become a way to show Scouse working-class pride.
Being a dock city, we've always had things first. When us Scousers spot trends, we get them in early, and make them part of our own identity.
The style of Nike trainer got its name from when the shoe hit its £110 mark after its UK release in 1995. Scousers have called the shoe after its price, and it's stuck ever since.
